The Secret Life of Groceries

The prompt for this assignment was to illustrate a New York Times Book Review article. “The Secret Life of Groceries”, explores the dark underbelly of the grocery industry. I wanted to explore all of the hidden aspects of modern American supermarkets. The author vividly describes cleaning a seafood tank in Whole Foods, so I drew a giant, fantastical fish tank full of creepy, larger-than-life sea creatures.
